Longing

A private place. Miami, 2015

Give me a place where we can sit idly and watch the world pass us by. A place where we can hold hands and sleep embraced in each other’s arms. Give me a place where my longing turns to surrender, where I can voice my heart’s desire above a whisper without fear or judgement from the jealous stares of strangers. Give me a place where we can gaze up to the heavens in gratitude after a day filled with joy and companionship, blessed by loving souls who only want what is best for us. Give me a place where I can lay my head on your chest and rest—spent—after a day of basking in your love. Come, sit next to me, in a place that is ours alone, and in your arms let me sleep free of the longing that still lies buried deep within my heart.
