50 things I don’t do often enough, or as much as I’d like to, but I should:

  1. Read
  2. Drink water
  3. Tell my parents how much I love them
  4. Watch PBS and BBC America
  5. Play
  6. Write
  7. Call my friends to catch up with them
  8. Have sex
  9. Talk to my parents
  10. Manage my finances better
  11. Write letters (e-mails don’t count)
  12. Travel
  13. Speak in Spanish
  14. Make new friends
  15. Exercise / work out
  16. Keep my opinions to myself
  17. Visit libraries or museums
  18. Brunch on Sunday
  19. Date someone
  20. Hug my friends
  21. Eat dessert
  22. Volunteer
  23. Hang out with my nephews
  24. Do nothing but listen to music
  25. Meditate
  26. Read books with pages, not screens
  27. Pray
  28. Happy hour and heart attack platters with mom
  29. Sit still
  30. Hang out with my dad to philosophize, or simply bitch
  31. Clean
  32. Say thank you—and mean it
  33. Praise a kind deed
  34. Go to the theater
  35. Plan ahead of schedule
  36. Eat vegetables

  38. Leave comments on people’s blogs
  39. Drive aimlessly while blasting my favorite tunes on the stereo
  40. Cook homestyle Cuban food
  41. Learn just for the hell of it

  43. Sit in the park
  44. People watch (without criticizing)
  45. Go to the movies
  46. Go away for the weekend to lose myself
  47. Party like I did in college (and recover from it in the same amount of time)
  48. Take better care of myself—physically, mentally, spiritually
  49. Study Chinese herbology
  50. Feel gratitude for all the blessings Life’s bestowed on me
